Hi,

I have a custom column in a CDS table which I want to delete. I have removed all the dependencies to this column from forms ,views and keys. But when I try to delete the column and save the table I'm getting the below error.

CDS Error.jpg

I tried deleting this from Dynamics  environment as well but I'm getting the below error. Rana_0-1625548177452.png

Any idea why this is occurring and how can I overcome this?

Regards,

Rana

    Hi @Rana ,

Patience is the key here. You may wait for a while and try to delete later. You can create a new column and leave that one alone for little while and come back later to remove.

Just want to confirm that this is not the calculated column?

Please Thumbs up and accept as solution if my post helped you solve your issue.

    Hi @Rana,

Can you download the log and share the details please? Usually the error is because there's either a table lock or record lock on the DB table level, due to a Dataverse publish or transaction in progress.

    Cheers

    Hi @Sid_Jafri ,

This is a text field. I added a new text field to this table and managed to delete it without an issue.

    Rana

Error code -2146232060 is about invalid login to SQL Server.... Can you try to log out and log back in? If that doesn't work open a Microsoft Support Ticket at: https://admin.powerplatform.microsoft.com/support

    Hi @Rana ,

It happened to me, I  don't remember was the same error message but I couldn't delete the column. I logout and next morning I was able to delete the column. You can give it a try or as EricRegnier mentioned to create a Microsoft ticket

    Hi @EricRegnier ,

Tried log out and log back in , but getting the same error. I'll try tomorrow as @Sid_Jafri  suggested and if the issue continues will open a ticket with MS support. Thank you both for your feedback.

    regards,

    Rana
