SharePoint Dropdown Autopopulate SharePoint Text

Hello,

I have a SharePoint list (called A-MAP) with two columns named "FHA Number" and "Property Name" (see second screenshot). I also have an app with a data card where the user must select the FHA Number (called FHA Number_Dropdown). I need the Property Name field in the app (called Property Name_Input) to autopopulate with the data from the SharePoint list. Can someone please help me with this?

    Hi @k_cain

    You would set the Default property of the TextInput box to Dropdown1.Selected.nameofpropertynamecolumn . If you did not want the user to change the property name, you could set the display property of the card for that field to disabled. FYI,  a dropdown control contains a table but only one field in the record selected is shown in the window.  However, every field in the record selected can be referenced.

    Not sure why, but that didn't work?  Did I input the formula incorrectly? Note, the column in the SharePoint list is called "Property Name," that's why I used it in the formula.  Thanks!

    Use the actual name of the dropdown in the formula.  I think you have it as FHA Number_Dropdown.  Try that instead of Dropdown1.

    Don't put it in double quotes and don't put single quotes around the dropdown name. If you didn't use spaces in field names and control names you wouldn't have these issues.

    Even without the double quotations, I'm getting an error message stating, "Name isn't valid. This identifier isn't recognized." The name of the column in the SharePoint list is called Property Name, and the SharePoint list is called A-MAP.

    Yikes, How about if you start by copying the name of the dropdown control into the Default property, then put a period and choose Selected then put a period and see what Intellisense suggests for the field name?

    It's not recognizing the 'Property Name' column from the SharePoint list.

    @k_cain ,

    Go to your SharePoint list, in List Settings, hover over the Property Name field and you will see the actual name at the end of the string that appears at the very bottom of the screen - it is probably something like Property_x0020_Name.

    As @Drrickryp said, leave spaces and special characters out of all your naming (lists, fields, controls, forms, variables, collections) and your Power Apps life will become so much simpler.
