Using a PowerApps Dropdown to Select the dropdown of a SharePoint form's lookup.

I'm facing a very specific problem, and unable to bridge a very tiny gap.

The idea is that I've got a SharePoint form I've hidden in my App, and each field is filled by a custom dropdown, checkbox, or input.

Every other type of field works, except the Lookup.

I want the chosen result in the Dropdown, to choose the result in the Lookup.

I've either managed to get it to work, but every option in the Dropdown is invisible (but changes the Lookup)

Or the Dropdown's options are visible, but do not affect the Lookup.

Does anyone have the correct method for this, because I feel like I've tried every combination and workaround I can think of.

Edit: I will additionally note, that the PowerApps Dropdown had a "DisplayFields" option in the combobox, I could solve this, but alas it is absent.

As I understand it, you have a SharePoint List.

In your App, you have added an EditForm control. The DataSource property is bound to this SharePoint list. You have added in fields into the EditForm as DataCards.

You have customised the DataCards by removing the default controls and replacing them with different controls. The EditForm successfully saves the output of each control into each field in your SharePoint list, except your LookUp field.

The output of the ComboBox control inside the DataCard for the LookUp column is controlled by a Dropdown control which exists outside of the EditForm.

Assuming the above is correct, please could you confirm:

    1. In your SharePoint list, is the LookUp field a single-select field or a multi-select field?
    2. What do you have in the Items property of the ComboBox for the LookUp field?
    3. What do you have in the DefaultSelectedItems property?
