Hi there,

Newbie here.

My power apps keep opening the old screen that's not exist anymore. In the initial stage, I had create the screen just for testing purpose, and then later I delete that screen and create a new one. But when I try to run the apps normally, it keeps opening with the old screen that I had already delete. Anyone has this issue? Can give me some point how to overcome this problem?

    Hi @ffmfp_staff,

    You need to publish the app to get the latest version when you play the app. If you click on the 3 dots for your app, then click on details -> versions, you can see which version your app is running.

    Please tick Accept as solution if the answer is useful.

    Thanks,

    @AARON_C

    Hey @ffmfp_staff

    Hearing this for the first time, that power apps is navigating you to an old screen that you have already deleted.

    There is an alternative of this. Open your app in edit mode.

    Click on App in Tree View.

    Then go to the property of StartScreen and write the Screen Name there. Then save and publish your app. Whenever a person opens the app, the person will be navigated to that screen.

    Thank you so much @AARON_C !!

    there is still lot for me to learn in power apps. So everytime I make changes in the app, I need to publish it correct? Just to double confirm

    Hi @Sundeep_Malik ,

    I try you method, sadly it didn't work. maybe because the first version did not have that screen name yet.

    but thank you for the solution. I will try to implement it in another project.

    have a good day to you!!

    No worries @ffmfp_staff, I had this problem when I first started learning too. If you want to see the changes you make when you play the app, you have to publish your app. Playing the app, will play the published version.

    Else if you preview the app when in the power apps studio by clicking the play button or pressing F5, you will see what you have done in the maker portal.

    @ffmfp_staff

    @AARON_C  is correct.

    To clarify more:

    Yes. Everytime you change something in the app you will have to publish it.

    So, I will tell you the difference between save and publish in Power Apps.

    Save will just make the changes for you or you can also say that the changes are made locally.

    Publish would make changes globally and it would be available to everyone.

    But publishing everytime is not the best thing to do, because that would just increase the version of your app.

    So, what you can do in the future is.

    Finish the app. That would be your 1st version.

    Test the app. Make changes. Publish it. It will be your 2nd version.

    Then the things left you can do a 2nd release of the app.

    I know sometimes there could be minor changes as well, at that time you can publish the app too.

    I hope this helps 🙂
