Can't get "My Work Status" to function on my new Huawei P40pro. Huawei no longer has Google support built in.

There have been a number of posts concerning Huawei phones that are specific to them and (as you have noted) one issue is that Google support is not included. A bit of searching found some stopping and re-starting of support for Huawei PCs, but it seemed a bit confusing.
Our users (about 150) run mobile apps on a wide variety of iOS and Android devices and the only issue we have ever had was a Huawei (which worked perfectly on all the others).
I won't get into the politics, but suggest that for long-term certainly on Power Apps you might look at another brand of phone.
