Hello.
I can't find, is it possible to update security role for the user, or team inside canvas app? or using a flow, dataflow or editing one of the dataverse system tables? Or I can just update them in Admin Center?
Where I can find the information about assignments of security roles?
I have the same question (0)

    Hello! Yes, you can update security roles for users or teams in several ways:

    1. Canvas App: You can manage security roles within a canvas app by leveraging Dataverse security roles. This involves adding the Users and Security Roles tables to your app and using conditional logic to control access based on roles .

    2. Power Automate (Flow): You can use Power Automate to assign security roles. This involves creating a flow that updates user roles based on certain triggers, such as adding a user to a specific table .

    3. Dataflow: While dataflows primarily handle data transformation and loading, you can manage security roles by ensuring the correct permissions are set for the tables involved.

    4. Dataverse System Tables: You can directly update security roles by editing the Dataverse system tables. This requires a good understanding of the Dataverse schema and the specific tables involved .

    5. Admin Center: The most straightforward way is through the Power Platform Admin Center. Here, you can create, edit, and assign security roles to users and teams. Navigate to Settings > Users + Permissions > Security roles to manage roles.

    For detailed information about the assignments of security roles, you can refer to the Microsoft Learn documentation on security roles and privileges.

    If the response is helpful to you, a like or mark as the correct solution. thank you so much!

    @ppl666 Hi,

    First, you might want to read a little the security topic against power Platform Security in Microsoft Power Platform
    Second, don’t try to reinvent the security-designer wheel inside your own Power App.
    The 3rd, If you have infrastructure team or security team, work with them, If you are the only one, follow the document from Microsoft.

    And https://admin.microsoft.com/ as well for Microsoft 365 admin center.
