hello community,
I have built an information sharing power app and the backend data connection is an Excel file from One Drive for Business.
To share the app, I have set direct access to the data file for all the related staffs. However, we receive enquiry time-by-time some staffs who has been using the app frequently has lost access.
When check, I've realize these staffs' email has disappeared from the 'direct access list' when no one has touched the list.
Anyone knows why such thing is happening?
P.S. we have checked with the staffs with access, generally no one is aware of being shared with direct access to the file etc, so for someone else to delete their email off the list is not too possible and doesn't make sense.
thanks!
It's not really an answer to your question BUT you really should move off from using excel as the datasource for powerapps, especially if you have multiple people using your app at the same time. You are going to run into several access issues when people try to make changes etc simultaneously and always better to change your datasource early than having to redo everything later down the road. Not sure why user's credentials are being removed on your end, but transfer the data over to sharepoint lists and it's going to save you a bunch of trouble later on. Never once had anyone disappear from a splist user group either.
Might ask around here too, as it's more focused community for issue you are having
It's the OneDrive Community, since this is a permissions issue with onedrive I would check over there and see if anyone else has had the issue
