Do users need to have a Premium license if an app has Premium components?

I built an app that I tried to share out. I get a warning that the apps has Premium components. Do uses need to have a Premium subscription to use the app? And how do I figure out what components are premium?

@futr_vision yes, any user of that app will also require a premium licence.

Premium components/connectors/controls are indicated by a diamond icon:

Why would an app that uses Dataverse in PowerApps for Teams not require users to have a license but an app, using the same connectors (actually fewer at the moment), built in the web version of PowerApps does?

because datacerse for teams is included in some licenses

Ah. I see. Well this certainly puts me in a predicament. Months of development possibly hindered. Can a web app be ported back to PowerApps for Teams? What would be a non-premium connector in PowerApps for web? Sharepoint?

Yes sharepoint is a free datasource for powerapps., also excel but inwont recommend using excel

I dont know any way to port it, cause dataverse for teams apps are slightl, different to build

@futr_vision - Because Dataverse for Teams and Dataverse are not the same.

You have already noticed that you can run a Power Apps built from Premium Dataverse from a web browser, but there are additional features not available in Dataverse for Teams.

The most obvious being that you cannot create a Model Driven Apps, you are limited to a 1GB environment limit, you have significantly less security options ( column-level security for example is not supported), Business Rules are not supported, and the special data types like the Customer and Currency columns are not available either.

Regarding your other question, it is indeed possible to port an App developed in Dataverse over to Dataverse for Teams:

Thanks. I gave this a try as both a managed and unmanaged solution. The problem is when I go to import there is this message at the top

"The entity with a name = 'MobileOfflineProfile' with namemapping = 'Platform' was not found in the"

There is nothing after that but below is a screen cap from rolling over that error. Doesn't seem very informative.

    Any ideas?

Ok. So there was another app in the solution that was nothing more than me playing with CoPilot. That cleared the error above. Next I got an error about dependencies. That turned out to be a cloud flow I had created. I deleted that. All looked good until import. Import failed with this error message

Customizations from file "CampaignBuilder_1_0_0_7_managed.zip" failed to import: No rows could be found for OptionSet with id e31907e5-e67d-4961-87fd-9ef4e296fbba if OptionSet were published

I dropped this in Copilot in Edge and it tells me it is related to a Dynamics 365 versioning issue? Is there a way to see this versioning issue?

@futr_vision - I would raise a separate a post as this thread has now gone beyond the scope of your original question - "Do users need to have a Premium license if an app has Premium components?".

Raising a new post means you will likely get more answers from other Community Members (as courtesy I would also accept which Solution answered your question on this thread).

Back to the new question, some checks:

    • Check if you have you included the Global Choice in your Solution
    • Ensure you Publish all customisations
