Hello there,
I am new to power apps and the syntax when adding values to items in combo boxes. I know in C# I can add a value to the items in a combo box with some code. What I am trying to do is I have a list in a sharepoint site with a drop down box as one of the options in the list. My issue is when I add the data source to the power apps, I am trying to add values to the items in that list. It is easy to add the values as text but what I would like to do is when those items are selected with their values listed, I can then add those values up in an amount label I have. For example, the first item selected will be 100 for the value then the second item selected will be 200. Once those items are selected, they will appear in my amount label already added up. Hope this makes some sense. I've been trying different formulas in the defaultselecteditems but I am not getting anywhere.
Need a bit more info about the list and datatype of the columns reading / writing from. Is this drop down a dropdown column in SharePoint already? You would need to either manually write values to the drop down items. Or use the default build in Choices(ListColumn) and wrap it with something like AddColumns to add a column that had some weighted values. But Ideally you would probably want a 2nd list for the dropdown, with column for id,name, value and reference that datasource for that drop down items etc. and then save the id and or name / calculated value in the primary list etc.
Thanks for the feedback. It is a dropdown column from a sharepoint site. I added the values in the dropdown column from the sharepoint site. When adding the form to the app and adding the datasource, I can get them to show text when they are selected which wasn't a issue. Here is a snapshot of a test app I am messing with, its nothing crazy. This is under the edit screen since it was created using the sharepoint starting point. Under the service I have the dropdown column and just trying to get the amount to display in the amount data card text box. Maybe I am over thinking it and it is something simple. I am new to power apps so learning as I go. Thanks for the help though.
