Should I be using PowerApps for Teams to build my app or PowerApps in the web interface?

Today, 06/11/2021 I got a notification to update to the new version of PowerApps while working on my app in PowerApps for Teams.  Not really sure what happened but the browser launched and there was my app. I don't recall ever being able to access my PowerApps for Teams app before in the browser builder. That being said should I be using the browser editor instead of the Teams editor? There is obviously extra features in the browser editor. Most notable for me would be the availability of a dropdown control which is not available in the Teams builder.

    I think I answered my own question unless I am missing something.

    @Future_Vision The differences are more than a dropdown!

    • The "Studio" version of PA is the "Full Version" which has a free tier that is included with most O365 subscriptions.
    • When you want to go deeper and use Premium connectors etc., a cost comes into play.
    • This is to build Enterprise grade Apps with ALM (Application Lifecycle Management) i.e. Different environments for building, testing, production etc.,
    • The Teams version, at least in my opinion is a way to promote Teams rather than Power Apps.
    • It's Free
    • It's meant to be used to build quick and simple solutions to address basic problems within a Team.
    • MS itself suggests, if you want more, move to the "Studio Version"

    So, it would be worth defining what your current requirement, what the expected growth would be in the future and what budget you have etc., before choosing a path, as crossing paths later may not be as easy as it sounds.

    It may be also a good idea to do some prototyping in both sides and test the waters.

    Hope this helps in your decision making!

    @CNT
    Thanks for the info. I figured there was more to it then just dropdowns. I guess my concern is that when I took the PowerApps for Teams app and edited in the Studio version things broke. I heard that in the future there is going to be unified editor across all platforms but I guess it is not ready yet?

    @Future_Vision Far from being ready. Huge ambitions from MS but?

    I've been on the "Full" Power Apps for over 2 years and no turning back.
