Collecting the Data from a Data Source Table

I'm trying to build an app that works offline and I think the answer to all of my problems is if there was some way to store the data from a Data Source table into a collection.

Example:

I have an excel data source table on my One Drive.

I want to create a collection that has the exact same content as the excel table.

Please, could somebody help me?

    Hi @ArthurP96

Your idea won't work because a collection exists only in memory and is lost when the app closes.  What you need is the SaveData() and LoadData() functions.  Please see the documentation here as to how to do it. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/canvas-apps/functions/function-savedata-loaddata

yes, I'm aware of that. Maybe my description of the problem is leading to a misinterpretation.

My idea was to frist create a collection that had the same content as the excel table. Then I would save it using DataSave(), and use LoadData() the next time the app was opened.

But I am struggling to create the collection that has the excel content, I don't know how to do this.

    Hi @ArthurP96

    It's simple

    Collect(coldataset, yourexceltable)

the name of the collection can be anything you want.  The second element must be your excel data table that has been imported into PowerApps. If you used the Start from data option to create your app, the table should already be in the app.Annotation 2020-05-06 075645.png

You can look at them by using the view option in the barAnnotation 2020-05-06 075646.png
