Display Name Vs Plural Name

Hi,

When creating a Dataverse table, there is the Display Name that I specify for the table name and there is a Plural Name which is autogenerated. I have noticed that in certain situations (e.g. source reference in Power apps) uses the Plural Name and in other situations the Display Name is referenced.

Is there any risk/issues if I were to edit the Plural Name to be the same as the Display Name? I don't see the benefit of having two different naming conventions for the same table and simply makes it confusing to know which one to use when referencing.

My preference would be to make the two the same by manually editing it when creating the table, however I want to first understand if there is a good reason not to do so.

Thank you!

The risk would be just confusion, your views would have default names of your views losing the plural and if I remember rightly you would have to be careful with your Odata requests.

Shouldn't be an issue with having the Display and Plural the same value, what you need to avoid is having multiple columns with the same values as other columns (as this can cause issues with export/import and other functions).

Also, technically it is not the Plural Name that is being used it is the EntitySetName just when you create the Table the EntitySetName is set the same as the Plural https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-apps/developer/data-platform/entity-metadata#table-names
