SSMS - can't see all custom entities as a system administrator

Hey all,

I'm trying to see dataverse tables in SQL Server Management Studio. Unfortunately I can only see 4 out of 7 custom entities there, even though I'm using a system administrator account.

When logging in in normal PowerApps I can see all tables just fine, only in SSMS they aren't there. The 4 tables I can see exist a few month longer, the 3 other tables I can't see are around 1-2 weeks old. All are configured the same.

Does anyone have an idea how I can be able to see them or what could be a reason for this?

I have the same question (0)

    Hi @vobius ,

I have had this issue as well.   I am able to query the table but it does not show in the Object Explorer.  IS this the situation you have as well?  Are you able to query the table successfully?  Have you tried refreshing the intellisense cache?  Edit -> IntelliSense -> Refresh Local Cache or CTRL + SHIFT + R?

Yes, thats the exact same problem I'm facing. Unfortunately the refresh of cache didn't work, but I'm able to run queries against the tables.

Hello, @vobius and @dpoggemann, can this compatibility issue be the reason?

I have just connected to my Dataverse last weeks and I can see all custom tables but my SSMS version build is 18.12.1

I also have the same version, so apparently no version or compatibility issue..

@vobius, just following up, did you figure out the issue?

Nope, no chance to figure it out. Seems like a strange bug.

Based on previous similar issues I wonder if the only fix is to update your security roles (add a random one), disconnect and recreate the connection to the database and see what happens. That should refresh any caches and hopefully fix things...

I had a similar issue where I could see 2 out of 3 tables (but not a recently created one). Adding a security role fixed things for reasons unknown...
