PowerApps Customized Form Not Creating New Record

Hi All,

I have customized a sharepoint list form using PowerApps. I have published the customized PowerApps form to SharePoint, however, when attempting to create and save a new record, it is not populating in the list (the save button essentially does nothing). I do however the ability to edit existing records using the customized form and the changes are saved to the list.

I have also created button to save to the list and that does not work either.

The default SharePoint form saves just fine.

Is there something I'm missing?

Thanks in advance!

You might be getting an error submitting!

First, you are using SubmitForm on your form - correct?

If so, I would put a formula in the OnFailure action of the form : Notify("Failure")

In the OnSuccess action, put a Notify("Success")

This will at least let you know if it is encountering a failure or doing the submit properly.

I hope this is helpful for you.

    Hi @rlb

A typical reason for this is missing mandatory fields. Therefore, I'd check that your customised form includes all mandatory fields.

    Hi @RandyHayes

    Thanks for your help.

OnSave I am submitting the form using: SubmitForm(SharePointForm1).

I added the failure/success notifications and I did receive a failure notification. Any ideas on how I can get more information to see what is failing?

I also tried @timl suggestion below, but still no luck.

Yes, you are either missing some value that is required (check your required columns in the list definition), or you are passing an invalid value through the form record (i.e. a number or a text where a date is expected, etc.)

You can also make use of the Monitor tool to look at the exact information that is being passed and the error and result that is coming back.

Thanks for your help. I was not able to find out what was wrong, but it can definitely be attributed to user error. I'm new to Lists/Flows/Apps and had been playing around with this specific list for the last few weeks. Very possible that I just made so many changes that I broke something somewhere along the way. I saw this flagged as an issue in several posts - my suggestion to newbies is to save yourself some time and just create a new list once you know what you want. And save it right away as a template when it's working!
