We have created many dashboards and reports, that get data from MySQL. Desktop has no problem. We can update directly from MySQL in our Intranet (Server version: 5.1.73-community - MySQL Community Server (GPL))
Until early April we had no problems with the connection to do a refresh once published.
Now, all the reports that rely on data from the MySQL server, will not refresh.
Error message under DATA SOURCE CREDENTIALS: Failed to test the connection to your data source. Please retry your credentials
Checking in Lineage Mode, CONNECTION STATUS: Unable to Connect.
Going to Credentials and applying the necessary information:

Failed to update data source credentials: An error happened while reading data from the provider: 'One or more errors occurred.' With Status 400 (bad request). Thus, something on my end (web level of PowerBI MyWorkbench) is not working.
Yet, this is at the PowerBI level, not my Desktop. My desktop is working well.
What am I missing / not understanding / not doing? If it was a failure / rejection at the server then I’d worry that the MySQL version is so old it is not supported. But it returns a 400, so it means it is on the Requesting Machine (correct?)
Please remember old reports that worked, stopped working in mid early to Mid April.
Good afternoon Paul, did your network team have any luck in finding out why things stopped on your end? We still struggle with this ourselves, and cannot determine why our Personal Gateway isn't transmitting data anymore even thoughts shown in the Power BI Console and shows available, but data is not passing.

We've contacted our Network team (outside supplier) and they too are unable to solve this issue.
What you describe is exactly what we're seeing (though you put it better).
This has crippled nearly a dozen dashboards and reports we have.
It is becoming a serious enough issue that we either find a way to escalate it with Microsoft, or see if there are other solutions.
IF - that's all caps - we find a solution, I'll post it here. No one seems to have any idea what happened in the last few weeks.

Hello Pampas, have you by any chance found a solution yet? We seem to be facing a similar issue as you described.
To give you a bit more detail, I can see the Personal Gateway on https://powerbi.microsoft.com, and it shows as active and online. Additionally, we can also connect to our MySQL server on the same network as the gateway which logged into that physical device, and I can connect to this server directly from the machine hosting the Personal Gateway without needing a VPN.
Like you, I can view the reports on Power BI Desktop and access the data no problem. However, attempts to refresh the data from https://powerbi.microsoft.com fail, and from within the console of Power BI when I go into Data (preview) and try and connect to a database it fails, however, again it works fine from within PowerBI desktop, but not one the website.
When I try to use my valid credentials to connect to the database, it doesn’t work, and the advanced logging I enabled in PowerBI Personal Gateway hasn’t been much help.
Any advice from the community would be greatly appreciated.
