Getting your Data error

Hi

I'm getting the error "Getting your Data.." when I open the Form .

This was working previously. I checked by opening the App on Edit mode and It doesn't have an issue when I play the app.

But I'm getting the error when I open it normally. I did some changes but don't think it apply to this since other Forms that was working before is having the same issue.

Do you have any formula on the item property of the Form like  First(Datasource) ?

No. And I have been using this for more than one month without an issue.

I don't think it is an issue with my code, if so I will have the issue when I run the app on Edit mode, right?

Edit mode is intended to show a data for it to be edited.

The item property indicates which record is to be shown in edit mode.

So until you make use of the item property, you would have that issue.

I'm not talking about the Edit mode.

I'm talking when I'm on Editing the app (I don't know how to say it) it is working on the preview mode. But when I run the App from mobile or browser it is not working. This was a working app and suddenly this happens. The items property is set correctly. I have many Forms and only some not working and items property is set the same for others too. Only difference is the SharePoint list it refers to.

    Hi @indhaa

Is it possible to go back to your previous version and check whether you have the same issue or not? To go to Previous versions

    • Select the App
    • Click (Three dot) to go to Details
    • Click Versions
    • Select the previous version and Publish the version

    Yah

I'm currently checking the old version to see if the issue is there.

I restored an old version and it is working for that. Do you think I will have an issue with the Forms by deleting and adding SP list again for those having issues.

Or do you have another solution I can try. I did many changes so can't revert to old version.

    Hi @indhaa

You should not be having any issue by deleting the connection and Re-adding it. Please go ahead.

    Hi @StalinPonnusamy ,

So I removed and added the SharePoint list but still the same issue.

So I tested by duplicating the Form and when viewed from this Form I have no issues when connected to the Production SP List.

I think I found the issue. So I have done many changes to my App and for Testing I created duplicate Forms and SP lists of Production recently.

The Test SP list is duplicate of the production SP list. So when I connect the Gallery to Test SP List, it is asking to correct a column. This column name it is trying to use is an old name of the production SP list. I think this is the issue. Why is Power App still referring to an OLD column name. This column was renamed on Production SP List. The most bizarre things is that this is a duplicate SP list, so it shouldn't ask for it when I connected the Test SP List.

So with more testing I find that I STILL get the msg ""Getting your Data.." and then it is loading the data if I connect without changing the gallery to the old name but after I do that I have no issue with the Duplicate Form. Meaning first connect the gallery to test SP List and change the name and then connect to Production SP and I don't get the msg ""Getting your Data.." while loading.

Anyway it has corrupt the original Form. Even I connect it to Test SP List I'm getting the error  ""Getting your Data.." and then nothing.

Maybe I'm wrong . Can I get your input on this since I cannot delete the original Forms. It will be lots of work creating duplicate and renaming the Datacard since they are referred elsewhere.

What might I try to correct the original form?

Any help from you guys too @RandyHayes @WarrenBelz @zmansuri

    Thanks

    @indhaa ,

I think you are in good hands with @StalinPonnusamy  - firstly SharePoint will always refer to the "original" name - you do a lot of posting here and it may be time to take a small step back and actually understand some of the responses you are provided with.
