PCF control update and versioning

Hi,

I am struggling to update my changes to pcf control. I have tried updating the version. The previous manifest version was 0.0.1. I updated it to 0.0.2. However after I build and reimport the solution, it doesn't reflect the changes. What is proper method to achieve this?

I have the same question (0)

    Hello,

Where do you use the control? If it's a model driven app - everything should work fine.

If it's a canvas app/custom page - you will have to:

    • delete the existing used control from app
    • save and publish app
    • reopen app
    • re-import and re-add the control
    • save and publish app

After that your changes should be reflected

    Hi @VBaaz ,

How did you uploaded the PCF? Have a look to Solution Layers, to see if you already have a managed and unmanaged version there.
Maybe my blog can help you to dig in the right direction: https://dianabirkelbach.wordpress.com/2020/12/23/all-about-pcf-versioning/

Yes I am using it in a model driven app. It worked for me once now. All I did was changed versions on manifest and solution.xml. Imported the solution and published the changes. However after making another change it did not work when I followed the same steps. Does it take time to reflect?

    Hi @DianaBirkelbach ,

I just noticed that the version update is working for me only when I change the <MINOR> part of the version number. I changed version from 0.0.1 to 0.1.0. And that worked.

We've recently had the same problems after installing latest with "pac install latest" and ended up reverting to version 1.16 and found we no longer had any of these issues. Grateful for the tip around minor version as well.
