Hii All,

I am using an excel as data source which is stored in my personal OneDrive if I move this excel to share point to make it as common file for all users will it affect the app data ?? I am not going to change any contents inside excel but changing the source location will impact current app ?

and also can I change the name of the excel keeping table name as it is ??

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi @RMeena_9,

Do you want to transfer the Excel data from OneDrive to SharePoint and connect it to your canvas app?

Firstly, there is no direct way to connect an excel file on SharePoint Document Library to Power Apps.

As a workaround, you could directly export the excel table to a SharePoint list, which is the better way I think.

In excel, it already has the function of "export to SharePoint list". Then it will automatically generate a new list stored the data of the excel file.

Firstly, you need to download this excel file. Only excel in local has this function.

Secondly, please format your data as a table.

Thirdly, choose this table, in the design pane, select export.

Click "export to SharePoint list"

Then, the data will be exported to SharePoint list.

Now, you should connect the SharePoint list to your canvas app. It it necessary for you to build the connection one more time.

Hi @v-qiaqi-msft,

I tried to copy the same excel in one-drive to share point it worked without any mess until I change the table name given inside excel. Even the change of excel name itself is not causing any trouble after uploading into power apps.

I think If the content or column names remains same & also table name is same in excel, power apps is not effecting. It worked fine for me not affecting any formulas also.
