Hi All,

I know you will all be rolling your eyes at this one, but I can't seam to find an answer...

We have an app setup all working grand but when it comes to searching for records I keep getting a really simple but annoying issue. If for example we have an account called 'Franks Windows' and we search for 'Windows' nothing appears. If we search from the start of an entry 'Frank' the records will show.

I am hoping there is something simple that I am missing to get the search function to search the entire record line and not just the starts.

It would be useful to know where and what you are searching with including any code (in Text)

Hi @WarrenBelz

I have attached a screenshot with a table showing. If I use the filter by keyword box on the top right and entered 'ABO' The screen will filter and show the record. If I search for 'Wind' it will only show me entries where 'wind' is the first word.

There has been no code adjustments, all very much out of the box creation.

What exactly am I looking at there - what is your data source and what are you trying to construct ?

The datasource are tables built into the app. I am just trying to get the search function to search entire blocks of text and not just the first words in a record

I will try and ask another way - what kind of app are you building and what is the type of data source you are using ?

The app is basically a customer database, multiple data tables, multiple forms linking into those tables. Everything is kept within the app, no external data sources.

I have a feeling that I am missing a tick in a box which enables search entire fields

I will try to me more specific - is your data source Excel, SharePoint, Dataverse or something else.

Is your app an Integrated App (SharePoint), a Canvas App or a Model-Driven App ?

So just worked out that the Filter by Keyword box is set to 'starts with' haven't worked out how to change that yet, but can do a '*' as a wildcard which seams to resolve the issue. My next problem is that filter box only appears to search the unique column. Just for clarity I did not create this filter box, it was just there from start of app creation
