I need assistance with an auto height HTML Text element in a flexible height gallery. When the gallery is first displayed, the last row of the HTML text is cut off (see screenshot). After scrolling in the gallery or filling out the input controls, the HTML Text element will eventually fix itself and display correctly. However, this problem is very consistent.
@JimSutt
First, are your controls below the HTML control set to have their Y property based on the Y and Height of the HTML control?
Also, I run into this quite often with autoheight in flex galleries with HTML controls. I will say...I find quite often that selecting the HtmlText control and doing a ctrl-x and then a ctrl-z on it brings it back to normal.
I hope this is helpful for you.
Hi @RandyHayes ,
Yes, all the controls below the HTML control have a Y property set to the sum of the heights of the controls above them + 10 (for padding).
Selecting the HTML Text control, cutting, and then undoing the cut does "fix" the HTML Text control, but only for the moment. If I save, close, and re-open the app, the problem returns. My current workaround is to add a <br> tag to the end of the content in the HTML Text. This fix essentially adds an extra blank row to be cut in half, so at least I can read all the text, but it's not an ideal fix.
I've never seen that particular issue. I use them often in flexible height galleries. But who knows...things change often.
What happens then if you increase the bottom padding??
@RandyHayes Increasing the padding of the bottom of the HTML Text control doesn't make a difference. I also tried adding more spacing between the HTML Text control and the drop down control after it. No impact. I'll stick with my workaround. Thank you for trying to help!
Hmmm...it was a shot!
My flexheight galleries with the HtmlText control in them usually are at the bottom of the gallery template. I have always found that the control gets cut off and typically implement a 1x1 transparent rectangle that has a Y based on the Y and Height of the HtmlText control. That always resolves the cutoff for me.
I didn't mention that because you already have controls below it that would serve that purpose.
But, hey...if the workaround works around, then go for it!
Hi @RandyHayes
Saw your replied to this article and wondering whether you experience the limit length of HtmlText control when using it in the gallery ? when I use HtmlText Control as last element , I found some long content will cover the next section of the gallery..
any idea how to fix it or any MS doc referring to this limitation?
