Adding External DB to CDS

Hello, 

I was wondering if I am able to connect an external db to CDS. 
Is this only achievable by using PowerApps via custom connector? 

If I do use PowerApps custom connecter, and if I change one of the fields in the external database will that also update to CDS? 

Any inputs much appreciated 🙂

    Yes you can add them. It is a bit of a dark art but you can import the data and get it to refresh on X interval.

    I've not done a full integration but I have pulled and refreshed against an Azure Sql Db it was just one flat table but it worked.

    Use the get data tab at the top of the CDS and map the fields. It even mapped relational fields if they shared the same PK.
