Choice and Lookup Column

Hi,

I want to use a choice column from Table A as a lookup column in my second table, Table B. However, when adding the table to the PowerApps form, only the 'ID' values are populating instead of the choice column values.

Can someone assist me with this?

I have the same question (0)

The "ID" is being populated because "ID" is your Primary Name column.

"I want to use a choice column from Table A as a lookup column in my second table, Table B" - could rephrase what you mean?

Then how can I populate the values instead of ID. As my point is to display the values in lookup column.

Can you please show an image it would help very much.

Depending on the Control, if you bind a table, you can Pick the Field you want to display.

    Cheers

@AsheerHasan - you will get a solution quicker if you can answer my question.

Please look at this related post I answered a few months ago on returning related columns on a Form:

    Hello Amik,

Thanks for the step-by-step instructions. But still, I am unable to see the values in the choice column. Attaching the snapshot blow, please.

    @AsheerHasan -

    1. What do you have in the Items property of that Combo Box/Dropdown.
    2. Is that a Custom DataCard or did you modify an existing DataCard?
    3. Not sure what you want me to glean from the second screenshot - it does not tell me anything useful

    Please provide detail

In the item property of the combo box is showing primary ID from the Table A not the values.

I have added a new Custom DataCard and then added a combo box into that.

When I click on the item property of the choice column, then I saw it is indicating that the data type for evaluation. (So, I thought to attach the screenshot for your reference.)

@AsheerHasan - when I say Items property, I mean click on the Combo Box, select the Items property, and tell me what expression you're using:

You have not provided that but I am going to guess you need to add the following into the Items property of that Combo Box:

Choices('Your Choice Column (Your Table Plural Name)')

    Please check.

@AsheerHasan please recheck my edited response - there was an error in the syntax (you need the Table "plural" name for a Local Choice).

If the Choice column in Table A is a Global choice, then use:

    Choices('Your Global Choice Name')
