After deleting a Variable it doesn't update on related topics

We have created a topic with some variables, which were marked as Input.

Since we didn't use them, we deleted those variables BUT, now, all the previous topics that redirected to this new one is throwing an error.

If we try to update those topics, by deleting and recreating the "Redirect to another topic" action, when we try to save the topic, we get: «Output variable to this topic changed. Save current topic. »

We cannot fix this and we are unable to publish new versions.

Any help or suggestion, that doesn't imply deleting all the existing topics and recreating everything from scratch?

    Hi Yihan,

The only solution I found was to delete the topic that initially set the Variables and re-create everything.

Since the topic was a System Topic, I had to create a new Topic, without the variables, that redirected to the System Topic, so that I could reference that topic from others.

But this is indeed a very annoying bug on PVA that should be addressed!

Oh gosh , that isn't a good solution, I'm working light now just for testing before publishing.
Going live would be a nightmare.
I can definitely not delete 1 whole topic populated with huge chunks of data if there's a scenario like that.

We had the same error message for a topic that was invoking another topic. Creating a copy of the target topic and reassigning the variables in there resolved it on our end.
