Document Management Settings - Multiple SharePoint Integration per Entity/Table

(1) ShareShare

Posted on by 44

Hi, is it possible to select a different sharepoint site to map to different entities? From the configuration options here, it seems like all entities must use 1 sharepoint site. I was hoping to have separate sharepoint sites for document management for different entities (i.e. different Apps)

Thank you,

Eric

    Hi @EricFai

Yes you can add more than one site.
The first thing you should do is add a new URL to the SharePoint Site, entering the data it requests. Then you must hit the activate button.

Second, in Document Management Settings you must reference that new site and select the table to which you must reference.

I have two sites that reference two with two different libraries on different sites

    Hi @Jmanriquerios,

Thank you for letting me know this is possible!

Did you use a form like this for adding another SharePoint site?

Is your Contoso site for one app, and your "Site 1" used for a different app?

    Thank you very much

    Eric

    Hi @EricFai

The owner must be the system administrator
The Contoso site is used for some tables and site1 for other tables. It does not go by applications but by tables. Example you can send the account table against contoso and the store custom table against site1

I need to do this same thing. However, your instructions are missing a piece of information for me. How do you add the second site URL? The SharePoint Site table won’t allow me to create a new entry.

PS. I’m a global admin for our Microsoft so it shouldn’t be a permissions issue unless I have to give myself permissions somewhere first. Any help at all is appreciated with this.

Hi @Jonathan Manrique, sorry to revive this thread. I thought I had figured it out with your suggested steps, but I actually had trouble following the second step you mentioned. (Sorry, things changed in terms of work requirements so this feature request was put off back then..)

"Second, in Document Management Settings you must reference that new site and select the table to which you must reference."

If I go to Document Management Settings, I can only define 1 SharePoint Site for multiple Entities as in my original screenshot

Do you mind sharing some screenshots for how you would assign a different Sharepoint site to each of your table/entities?

    Thanks so much!
    Eric
