Assistance with Setting Up Copilot Agent for Weekly Teams Channel Posts

Hello, I'm new to using Copilot Studio and trying to set up an agent that can post regular updates in a specific Microsoft Teams channel. I’ve managed to:

  • Set up an action within Copilot Studio that will gather content and prepare it for posting.
  • Incorporate the Teams channel ID to ensure it posts in the correct location.

However, I'm struggling with a few key aspects:

  1. How to configure the agent to post on a recurring schedule (e.g., weekly).
  2. Making sure that the posts appear correctly in the designated Teams channel.
  3. Testing the entire flow to ensure it runs smoothly and reliably without needing manual intervention.

Any guidance on the best way to handle scheduling and ensuring proper execution would be greatly appreciated. I've read through the documentation, but I'm still not sure if I've missed any crucial steps. Thank you in advance for your help!

    Hi

You can now use the Recurrence trigger (currently in preview) to set this up and then link it to perform a specific action.

    1.
Since Copilot Studio doesn’t directly support scheduling posts within the agent’s interface, you can leverage Power Automate to trigger the agent's actions on a recurring schedule.

    2.
To ensure your posts appear correctly, you might need to consider the formatting of the message. If you're posting structured content like reports, you might want to use Adaptive Cards for richer formatting.

    3.
First, manually trigger the flow to verify that the agent gathers the correct data and posts to Teams as expected. If you’re using dynamic content or variables, test that these are being passed correctly to the Teams post.

Ensure that your Power Automate flow has the necessary permissions to post in the Teams channel. This usually means the flow must be set up with an account that has access to the target channel. Power Automate can be configured to automatically retry failed runs, which can be useful in case the bot or Teams is temporarily unavailable.

    Thanks.
