I need to create an app that will allow about 20 different people access an online database. Is this something Power Apps can do?

Thanks

    Hi @CynMoore ,

Yeah, power apps can do it.

Assuming your database is sharepoint, you only need to follow these steps.

1\ Design your app, save and publish it.

2\ Make sure the user has enough licenses to run the app.

3\ Assign database read and write permissions to users.

    4\ Share your app

    Best Regards,

    Wearasky

@CynMoore A bit of additional information. Yes, Power Apps can do this and it will support many other databases than just SharePoint.  You can also use Dataverse, SQL, MySQL, Oracle, or any other database that has a published API that can be used to access the data.

Thanks for the reply. My database is Access, not SharePoint. I didn't know what SharePoint was. I just looked it up. The cheapest version, which does not include support for Excel is $60/year/user. I have at least 20 takers and could have more. Even with just 20, the cost is $1200. To get Excel support, I'd need the $12.50 version, which would be $3,000.

This is a volunteer project as a favor for the neighborhood. I am not making anything. I cannot afford to spend that much. I already have an Office 365 family subscription. I was hoping to do it with that.

    Pstork1,

My data is currently in Access. I could probably export it to MySQL. What about Excel?

This is a volunteer project for our neighborhood. I need a solution that does not cost a fortune.

If there is a way to do that, please let me know and/or lost a link to a tutorial.

    Thanks
