Power App forms in SPO Modern lists opening in narrow dialogs

As of approximately this week, Power App customised SharePoint list item forms accessed from Modern view now open in a narrow dialog occupying the middle of the screen rather than being docked to the right side of the window and showing their full width as was previously the case.

These dialogs cannot be resized or maximised, causing forms designed around the previous available size to scroll horizontally. This is very poor UX.
The list-level advanced setting 'Launch forms in a dialog?' makes no difference to this behaviour, and I do not believe it has ever been respected in the context of Power Apps.
Using Classic views, or otherwise accessing DispForm.aspx/EditForm.aspx directly, still shows the Power App form full-screen.

How can this be avoided?

It would be impractical to remake all forms to fit the new scaling. The only potential workaround we've identified so far would be to provide users with a 'maximise'-style button in-app, which would open the relevant item's EditForm.aspx page in a new tab. This would negate many of the advantages of an in-window form, and seems awkward for what is meant to be an enterprise platform. Please advise.

EDIT: I found https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/sharepoint/user-dialogue-window-too-small-issue-sharepoint-lists-microsoft/m-p/4180794 and https://www.reddit.com/r/sharepoint/comments/1fzpdix/sharepoint_list_edit_view_changed/ which seem to be the same issue. The Reddit commenter suggests that this is a known issue internally. Can a public update please be provided?

Apparently this is internally recorded as 'SP907551', but like many with SPO responsibilities I am not a tenant administrator or any other role which would permit access to the M365 Admin Center. Is there a public update?

Seemingly fixed. Unsure why it took multiple days to change 'v' to 'h', or why this wasn't tested before releasing it to customers.
