Assigning Per App License for external users

Hello All,

We have purchased 5 Power App Licenses with Per App Plan. Can anyone suggest on how can we assign these licenses to the users?

Also would it be possible to assign these licenses to the external users outside the domain? For example if the current CDS domain is test@xyz.com and the user has the email address with email@abc.com?

Please advise

I have the same question (0)

    Hi @Ancy ,

You would assign the per app license to a specific Power Platform environment, then emable the desired Power App(s) to use a per-app-plan. More information is available at the reference below.

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/admin/about-powerapps-perapp

With regards to your second question, you can assign licenses to external users outside your organization for a B2B scenario. More information is available at the reference below.

    Hi @ChrisPiasecki

Thanks for your response. As of now I am able to Share the App to the unlicensed user. Also I can access the App from that user using URL of the App directly.

But I am not able to see the Environment in which the App was developed and shared with the user. This user can only see the default environment. Is it possible that this user can access the Environment in which the App was built? The security role of this user does not have privileges to customize the system.

    Hi @Ancy,

You would need to share access to the data sources that the app uses (e.g. SharePoint list). Unless your app is using Common Data Service and you assign them a security role that has access to the data, then they would not have access to the environment. If it is using CDS and you assign them a security role, then they would have the privileges assigned to the security role.

    Hi,

I have provided the security role to the user to access the CDS records and perform create, and update. But no permission to customize the components. So if no permission for customizations then whether environments wont be visible?

    Hi @Ancy,

If the user is assigned a security role, they have access to the environment. But their privileges on the environment and assets are limited to those assigned to the security role.
