Using Custom Control in Quick Forms?

Greetings--

Just get into the PCF contents and see a lot of good potentials. One particular question I have is: Will we be able to use custom control in Dynamics quick form when it's get released? Currently the control tab is only available for main forms.

Our target scenario is:

We have senstive fields like SSN in CONTACT entity, and need show them on main form of CASE entity, with special behavior,  for example, masking in display but show upon mouseover, or via a click of a "reveal" button.

Previously those fields are implemented as html web resource html. In unified ui they are misaligned, specifically they do not stay on same row as label, and moved to a new row. We plan to use quick form to show them. However, we can not set field in quick form to use custom control. The "control" tab is not available.

I can sort of get around by adding a calculated field on CASE entity then use it on main form (see attached screen), but allowing custom control in quick forms seems cleaner.

Is there any update on this request from over a year and half ago?

Thanks for the information. Hopefully that's a go.

Is it possible to share what "Lookup field support" will look like?

Custom components are not yet supported on the quick view forms. I am reviewing with the team on when this can be enabled.

Lookup field support which will be avaialble later is another alternative here to replace the OOB lookup for contact with the custom data and rendering.
