I am building a Power App that loads data from a datalake source and stores it into a collection that is viewed in a gallery. Depending on the site collected the number of items in the collection can be 500-1000. The goal of the app is to update ,add information, and pictures to each item. Basically a field rep will collect information from the field and it needs to update the gallery so they can see progress and then also patch and update the sharepoint list with the data.

I have it functioning currently, it is just very slow on the mobile device which I assume is because you can upload up to 18 pictures per item so this is causing it to be very slow. I need this to work online and offline, so I was wondering any advice and tips on dealing with a lot pictures and data offline and how to improve performance on your mobile device with this much data.

Hey. If you need all the data and pictures available online as well as offline then it may suffer performance issues.

However, some things to consider are:

Do all records and pictures need to be available offline? If not, you could filter the data within the mobile offline profile: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-apps/mobile/setup-mobile-offline#add-a-table-to-an-offline-profile-and-apply-filters

Are the full-quality pictures required? If not, you could consider storing thumbnail images and using those when previewing data as they will likely be much smaller in size

Thanks! No I don't need all the records to have pictures. I think I will only upload a specific items images if they are online and just put up a message to say you are offline.
