How to get around the 500 item limit while filtering data set?

This is my filter function below. I am trying to get the records associated with the breaker that has an ID of 000038.

Because there are more than 500 records as shown in the second screen shot.

as i display on the app i expect to see all 4 of the records associated with the breaker 000038

as shown in the image below the fourth record that doesnt get displayed falls out of the 500 record limit.

How can this be worked around or fixed?

The easiest way I've found currently to overcome the 500 record limit is to filter down the items displayed on easy to filter fields.

In your case I would recommend always starting your filter by a Month if you can. Then allow the user to select a different month which then changes the collected data and hopefully it is always less than 500 items.

Otherwise you are looking at some complex joining of multiple collection together which leads to some difficult to work with databases.

if i sort by month first wont it still only pull the ones found in that month within 500 records?

    @Anonymous

I fail to see the breaker column (i.e. SubBreakerID) in the second screenshot.  Which of A-N is it?

I also fail to see it in the fourth screeshot.

I am asking so that I can be of more help.

In theory the filter should be delegated so that you should see all results.  I am saying this since there is no blue circle or underline warning in your formula, which should be there in case the filter is not delegated.

Thanks for the clarification, and I have just seen the blue circle underlining.

Oddly, if instead of maknig this column a look-up you make into a text column, then the filter should be delegated.

You will loose referential integrity, but that is a trade-off that you should consider.

Alternatively you could have an additional text column with the SubBreakerId (saving it with a hidden data card) this way you can have your cake (i.e. keep referential integrity) and eat it (delegating filters).

Please give me a call on Skype if you want more details.  My Skype ID is baizini

I guess ill have look into loosing the referential integrity, i kinda feel like that is important but if its my only option i may not have a choice

Please see my second reply, you may be able to have both.

I would ClearCollect a collection of data to display that matches just the month selected. If you don't have more than 500 records per month this would work without issue as it will only show data gathered for that selected month.

We use date as a filter limiting field all the time here to trim down data to view due to the 500 record limit and while loading the collection is slower than just gathering everything it's a good trade for function.

Im not familiar with collections. I will have to look into this.

    Thanks
