Cannot add Edit Form's DataSource for Planner Task

Hi,

I'm trying to add a list of tasks from MS Planner (non tabular data) and when selecting an item from the Gallery, I'd like to allow the user to see/edit all information regarding that Task (btw, Task's labels are nowhere to be found on the connector). The Item value for the Form is Gallery1.Selected (the selected Task), but is highlighted as invalid for the DataSource.

Hi @Anonymous,

Do you want to add your MS Planner connector as data source within the Edit form?

Based on the issue that you mentioned, I think you have some misunderstanding with Edit form and Data source types in PowerApps.

Currently, within PowerApps, the DataSource property of the Edit form control is required to provide a tabular data source (e.g. SQL Server, SP list, Excel table, etc), but the MS Planner connector is a Action data source.

If you want to add your MS Planner connector as data source within the Edit form or edit your MS Planner Tasks in Edit form, I afraid that there is no way to achieve your needs in PowerApps currently.

Hi @v-xida-msft,
Thank you for your short reply. Oh, I see... well what I wanted to achieve was to be able to edit a Plannner Task using an Edit Form, thinking that the Selected Item on the Gallery composed by Planner Task Objects would have the metadata exposed that the Form needs in order to create the Cards.
As you said it was a misconception from my part of the DataSource and Item fields of the Form. What about using an API to expose as xml the entityType definition the Form needs?

We can close the issue, but if you could shed some light on the subject I would highly appreciate it! 🙂
