Hi Power Apps Community! 👋

Have you ever thought about creating a question-and-answer feature in your Power Apps to provide instant, intelligent responses to users? Whether it’s for FAQs, scheduling, or guiding users through processes, this feature can make your app more interactive and user-friendly.

Here’s how you can build it!

Scenario

I wanted users to ask questions like:
👉 "What’s my schedule for today?"
👉 "Who visited the office last week?"

…and get answers directly from Dataverse tables, such as Meetings or Visitors.

    Steps to Implement

    1️⃣ Capture the Question

    • Add a text input box for users to type their questions.
    • Example: “What are my meetings today?”

    2️⃣ Design the Response

    • Use Power FX to filter data dynamically based on the question.
    • Example for today’s meetings:
      Filter(Meetings, Date = Today())

    3️⃣ Enhance with Power Automate

    • Create a flow to handle more complex logic.
    • Example: Parse the question, query Dataverse, and return the results to Power Apps.

    4️⃣ Integrate Copilot (Optional)

    • Use Copilot to interpret user queries naturally.
    • Train it with sample questions for better accuracy.

    5️⃣ Display the Answer

    • Show the response in a label, gallery, or any suitable control.
    • Example: Display a list of today’s meetings or visitor details.

    Why It’s Useful

    • Helps users interact with the app conversationally.
    • Provides quick access to relevant information.
    • Simplifies navigation by focusing on what users need.

💡 Pro Tip: Think about common questions your users might ask and ensure your logic covers different variations for a seamless experience.
