I'm currently looking at new functionality within D365F&O that archives transactional data to Dataverse. What I would like to understand is if this would provide any cost savings? What is the cost difference between storage within D365F&O and Dataverse (if any).
Archiving transactional data from D365F&O to Dataverse may provide cost savings if the data primarily consists of files, as Dataverse's file storage is cheaper (around $2 per GB per month) compared to D365F&O storage (about $40 per GB per month). For regular database storage, the costs are roughly the same. Savings depend on the type and volume of data being archived.
