Setting or Not setting limits on how much information can be recorded

Hi,
Very new to CDS so bear with me if I haven't named things correctly
I have an application where information is added into a field which could be used over a number of days possibly weeks.
It records data / time user and the required information which could consist of a few words or many.

In this instance the data was captured for a period of time then stopped. The application and the relevant field in the Model driven app displayed the same amount of data. Looking into the Entity and Data tab there seems to be a few more elements of the data, but then stopped.

How much can you set the Max length to in if it a Text Data Type? Currently set to 2,000
Is there a limit?

In the Model driven App will the field display whats in the CDS data field or do you need to set this also

There is a limit on the Text type field. You should probably be using the Multiline text field for your data. It is at the bottom of the list so you might not have seen it

Single line of text : Max 4,000 text characters.

Multiple lines of text : Max 1,048,576 text characters.

The setting to change the Max can be found under the Advanced options under the Calculated or Rollup box once you select Text or Multiline text. According to this Idea thread, the maximums were increased and the thread was marked Completed.

Sorry for not replying sooner.
I haven't actually changed any settings in the CDS Solution as of yet due to me being tasked with another project to help our staff deal with the current situation.

I'm sure it will as I assume it works the same in CDS as it does in Sharepoint??
