How to clean up Dataverse storage

Hi,

We are getting emails informing us that our Dataverse storage is full.

After some digging we came across the two screens below. It appears that the issue is with one specific environment and the details are in the second screen shot. How do we get to those files to view them and hopefully clean them up? A couple of us have spent significant time trying to find the data with no luck.  Thanks.

I have the same question (0)

    Hi there,

This question is a bit tricky because what's consuming your storage isn't just an entity or files—it's the resources used in your solutions. There’s no simple way to free up space; you'll need to remove solutions or components like Flows, Power Apps, tables, etc.

In your case, there are also several web resources taking up storage, which could be JavaScript files or icons—they all count the same towards storage usage.

For storage management, you can check your table backups and delete unnecessary records. Additionally, simplifying your data model by reducing the number of relationships, views, and forms required can also help optimize storage.

Based on your available space, it seems you don’t have many licenses assigned to this environment. If this is a production environment, I’d recommend considering the purchase of additional storage to avoid losing components.

    Regards,

There are multiple ways to clean up storage and it depends on your application structure. Please check the below document

Yes, it shows up as a "production" environment. We aren't exactly sure how it got set that way. We have a very small number of flows and power apps so aren't exactly heavy users = not super literate to the back-end of this.

I did get into the weeds and deleted some test flows that people had created, as well as attempting to delete a couple of power apps that had been installed years ago in an attempt to try and resolve something or other, only to be abandoned. I keep getting errors on trying to delete the power apps, and our space usage actually increased slightly after I deleted the items I was able to delete. So that didn't appear to have helped.
