Auto scroll through gallery

I currently have a gallery that displays one list item at a time to the user. They then have to Click on the navigation icon to the show the next item, and so on and so on.

Is there a way to (maybe using a timer) that if the user doesnt click through the items manually i can set it to automatically scroll through the items continously?

Thanks

    Hi @BenGillard,

By "scroll through gallery", if you mean that you want to scrolling bar to scroll automantically or navigate to the Details screen of different items one by one, then this cannot be achieved so far. As you cannot control scrolling bar automantically so far. And you cannot identify which item to show in the details form.

    Regards,

    Mona

    Hi @BenGillard

You can modify my tutorial below to accomplish exactly what you are looking for with some creativity. I have created a step by step tutorial on my blog. The post is here. https://officepoweruser.com/how-to-make-a-gallery-control-automatically-scroll-in-powerapps/

Animation showing you how the gallery control in PowerApps automatically scrolls!

    Hope this helps!

Hi there, i've followed your tutorial and it works a treat for instant switches. Is there any way to edit this to allow the gallery to slide i.e a carousel of photos

    Hi @TimtheHo,

Yes you should be able to build off this. You could easily implement this in a horizontal gallery instead of vertical. Are you looking for something like below?  I put it togeher as proof of concept quickly. I could put a tutorial together on how to build something like this if you would like.

That would be fantastic thank you! I’m hoping that it is just a small bit of code that I’m missing, a formula for ‘shiftright, cover’ or somethng

    Hey there @datamaster

I hope you can help me.  I have a SharePoint list of employees and I'm building an employee spotlight.  I used your tutorial here: https://officepoweruser.com/how-to-make-a-gallery-control-automatically-scroll-in-powerapps/

However, I am using a horizontal gallery and, there is only one row per page.

Because of this, I am not able to sort by a date field as it always shows me the first rownumber item.

I'm sure this is easy but, can you assist?

HI @memsim1010  are you loading the SharePoint list to a collection first then adding the column for row number. Also set the variable for how many records per page and the varible for how many pages.

This should work exactly the same for a horizontal gallery as a vertical gallery.

    Good afternoon,

Thanks for your nice solution. This one works perfectly.

the only thing that bothers me is the sorting. For example, how can I sort a column "Title" before it puts everything on the screen?

    bye,
    Raymond van der Horst
