Power Apps Portal - Portal Comments / Notes not displayed if entered through CRM activity timeline

Hi,

I read through some posts regarding portal comments within the portal e.g. on an edit case page.

I did configure permissions for activities (activiypointer) and portal comments (adx_portalcomments), plus I created entity form metadata for the timeline and I did configure the activity view for portal comments/switched the timeline default tab to activities.

If I set the timeline entity form meta data to inactive and set notes to active I get the "add comment" button and I am able to create comments, yet the are only displayed if I create them directly from the portal (notes that are created from CRM are not displayed).

If I deactivate the notes and set the timeline entity form metadata to active only previous comments show up, but no "add comment" button, although I did configure it within the entity form metadata.

I am not sure why comments / or notes are not displayed when entered direcetly form CRM and why my entity timeline entity form metadata configurations are not shown on the webpage (e.g. add comment button).

Any suggestions or advice ?

THANKS

    hi @Anonymous

If I understand correctly, despite setting up all the permissions correctly, you are unable to view any comments made from CRM side on the portal.

If the above interpretation is correct, then I think you may be confused between, normal notes and portal comments.

Normal notes are internal and may not be displayed in the portal as they are used for internal communication whereas portal comments are used to communicate with the portal users.

In order to create a Portal comment, you need to select the following from a timeline on CRM side -

    Hey! @LuckyT

I did create portal comments and "send" them yet no portal comment made within CRM displays on the portal

Are you able to see the comments when you do advanced find for the Portal comments?

If so then you need to look at the table permissions and ensure that the table permissions that you created are added to the Authenticated users web role for your specific portal.
