Sql database and permissions in powerapps?

I have done many apps in powerapps with sharepoint as datasource.

I have now started using sql db as datasource.

But i just realized i dont know how permissions work. With sharepoint all users of the app had to have edit access to the sp list.

Will all users of the app also need to sign in and have access to the sql database? Or is the connection i have setup building the app be used?

It has been a while, but when setting up the data connection to SQL, you will be prompted to provide SQL credentials. A connection reference will be established to store these credentials. Unlike other data sources such as SharePoint, all interactions with SQL will be carried out under the context of the provided SQL connection user. It's important to grant the minimum privileges necessary to perform the required SQL actions, considering security concerns. For more details, refer to this link: Microsoft Power Apps - Connecting to Azure SQL Database

    Also see (implicit connections): https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-apps/maker/canvas-apps/connections/sql-server-security

You should be able to do explicit connections (under context of user) as well, but I have not done this.

Thank you. I was worried each user would need to establish their own connection.
