Is there a way to limit access to a Model Driven App despite DataVerse permissions.

My CANVAS application has 2 types of users:

- Basic users who are able to edit draft items (as opposed to completed items)

- Admin users who can edit completed items.

 

Because of this, both users have their associated security roles that allow read/create/write access to the respective DataVerse table.

I have created a Model Driven Application that the Admins would use for the purpose of bulk editing (for house keeping reasons) however due to the basic users having read/create/write access to the data-verse they still seem to be able to access the model driven app along with the ability to bulk edit.

 

I was hoping there was a way to completely lock out the basic users from the application.

    You can manage access to your model-driven apps by assigning security roles to your app. In your scenario, you can remove the security role that the basic users have from your model-driven app and replace it with the security role that only the admin users have. In that way, only the admin users can see the model-driven app but not the basic users.

     

    If you don't want to completely lock out the basic users from the model-driven apps and just want to restrict them from Bulk Edit, you can remove the Bulk Edit privilege under Business Management tab.
