Assigning Records to Dataverse teams and users

Hi All,

I am trying to assign records in Dataverse table to Users and teams. I was able to find Team and User lookup columns created by default, but not able to edit that.

Anyone have done this before?

It would be great if I can do the same from the Power Apps as well.

Thanks in advance.

    @D_D,

    Due to admin restrictions, I cannot open the dataverse table in excel. Need to go with another solution.

    @KFlangan,

    I have tables with different sizes ranging from 100+ records to 5000+ records.

    It would be really great to identify the best solution. If XRM Toolbox is not from Microsoft, I am afraid the remaining two are the only options. Could you provide a bit more details?

    Hi When it comes to assigning Records in Dataverse.
    The User or Team GUID you use also needs to have the proper security roles to read that table of the row you are trying to assign.

    How many records are you trying to assign? There is a few different options to work through depending on the full use case:
    - XRM Toolbox
    - Assign in a model driven app
    - Assign in the advanced find popup window

    Best,
    Kevin

    Hello ,

    you can edit the data in Excel using the Microsoft PowerApps Office Add-in. Maybe you have to install it first. There you can set the values for e.g. the Owning Team (Lookup) by selecting a Owning Team (Lookup) cell and then selecting a ownerid or Team Name. I'm not sure if ownerid or Team Name should be used. Then you can publish your changes to dataverse. Be careful when using the Office Add-in! I suggest to test it first with a new created table and get sure everything works like you want.
