Set a drop down value default based on user

Good morning Power App community,

I am building a custom form (not a full app) and the requirement is to have a field set to a default setting based on the user.  I have the user list as a separate list for maintenance purposes, in the event a POC changes.

Is there a way to set their Org based on who it is that is logged in?  Thank you for your time.

    Hi @Sonia316 ,

    Assuming in your List Users you have two fields Mail and Org, the Default would be

    LookUp(
     Users,
     Mail = User().Email
    ).Org

    Thanks Warren - I added the data source to the list where I am keeping that data. Mine has Title for Org Req and Email is the other.  Will it know based on the user logged in's email - to autopopulate their corresponding Org.

    This is what I used -

    Lookup(

       'Requesting Orgs',

        Email = User().Email

    ).Title

    It's not liking Title but that is where I am storing the values for that field (it's a lookup field)

    The error says The property on this control expects Record values.  The rule produces Text values where are incompatible.

    @Sonia316 ,

    Please consider throwing away that Lookup field unless you really need it for something else - it just can unnecessarily limit what you can do. You can do this

    LookUp(
     AddColumns(
     'Requesting Orgs',
     "Org",
     Title.Value
     ),
     Email = User().Email
    ).Org

    providing your record numbers are not over your Delegation limit.

    Well I agree with  you but lookups aid me in not having to be the keeper of the data.  Someone else can maintain that list.  I'm going to implement your suggestion today and let you know.  Appreciate it.  My only other option is to make a collection in the app itself, then I have to maintain it.
