Hi everyone,
Many know that currency precision in Dataverse has been locked down to a maximum of 4 for a very long time. However, recently I was in a test environment, and I noticed I could push the pricing precision up to 10 decimal places in this particular test environment. I can't find any documentation or indication why I can do this in one environment and not others.
I checked for new functionality in the release planner and also had a theory that the release channel might be the difference, but I have two fresh environments - one on the semi-annual release cycle and one on the monthly release cycle - that both can push the max precision on currency to 10 decimals, whereas existing environments are limited to 4.
Does anyone have any insight they can share on why this might be? The screenshots below are from two environments that are both on the semi-annual release cycle.
Hi Wearsky, Do you know if there is a new email address to send these requests to? My email was rejected when sent to CDSExpandDecimal@microsoft.com.
Thanks for the link and the reply, Wearsky. That makes sense after looking at the graph and reading through the article.
