I created a Canvas PowerApp which is using an Edit Form insert from a List data source. I purposely made one of the fields within the list a dropdown field with a single dummy value, just so I have the ability to use a table as a data source on that field within PowerApps and pull a list of values into the field during a new submission (I dont think you can have a datasource for a text field?). The idea here is to pre-populate the field with options (there are hundreds coming from the table). However, I noticed upon submission of the form via the PowerApp, the value chosen on this dropdown field , does not populate back into the list. I am assuming that is because I do not have the hundreds of values pre-populated within the List itself, only within PowerApps via the table data source connection. Would the solution here be to remove the SP List and Edit Form insert entirely, build the fields from scratch and have all new submissions populate into a table first- then export into a list?
I am ultimately looking to track service request submissions, and thought it would be easier to track final submissions within a List rather than a Table but I could be wrong. Any suggestions here would be helpful.
