Components Not Displaying Input Parameters When Published

I created a reusable component for separating sections within a form. The component allows for a text input to define the header. In development, I can get the text to display properly, but when I publish, the production testing doesn't show the configured text; the default text is shown. Is this a bug with the component or did I set it up wrong?

Can you please share the exact steps related to changing the property? The screen shots that you have shared are from authoring environment. So I am assuming the issue that you see is related to consuming a component in authoring an app and not in published app. Is that correct?

    Hi @ShantanuP ,

The problem is in the published app. In the configured environment, I set the section name. I can verify this in the authoring environment, both after updating the text and pressing 'Play'. When I publish and try to view (either on a phone or the web) the configured string is not populated and the default text "Section Name" is displayed.

    Hi @eauerbac,

I am little confused. In screen shots that you have shared which is authoring scenario, I don't see the correct string either. Where is it getting "Section Name" when you are providing "Section Details" as the input?

    Hi @ShantanuP

Please see this updated screen shot. I can get the text to render in the authoring area. I have to reset the text for it to happen, but it shows here. It does not carry over when published.

    Hi @eauerbach ,

Just to clarify, you have a component with a label inside it. Lebel.Text property value it <ComponentName>.SectionName (SectionName is the input property of the component). When you import this component inside a form on canvas and override the SectionName property value to "Schedule Details", you don't see it's getting reflected in published app. Is that correct?

    Couple of questions.

    - What value is shown in published app? Is it the default value of SectionName property on component definition?

    - Can you repro the issue if you put the component on screen instead of inside the form? For example, Add a new screen, import the component on the screen, Set the SectionName property value to "Schedule Details", publish the app and see if the value is reflected.

    Hi @ShantanuP

Your description is correct. In the published version, the component always displays as "Section Name". I haven't tested with the component outside of a form, however, it will only be used within a form embedded within a data card so it can be used to divide fields.

Thanks @eauerbach for confirming. I can see the issue now. It only happens if the component is inside a datacard. It also repro in authoring if you close and open the document. It needs more investigation.
