I'm trying to connect a copilot to a dataverse DB

I created a dataverse DB in a dev environment Power Apps created for me (i.e. not in the default environment for my organisation)

When I go to copilot studio using the my development environment Power App created I get

If I go to the Default environment and create a copilot, I get

But i cannot select my dataverse table created in my development env

Can someone explain what I'm doing wrong?

What defines whether dataverse knowledge source is in "preview" or "coming soon" in my organisation?

Not too sure how to provide update on findings so replied to my own item

It turns out the the company Default powerPlatform environment and test / developer environments are hosted in different European regions which have different release cycles for these preview features

Generally, whether a feature is accessible has to do with first with the release status defined by Microsoft (e.g., Coming soon, Preview, Generally available). After Microsoft has released a feature as public preview, your tenant admins may have the ability to block the feature from rolling out across environments (depending upon the feature). Finally, at the environment level, the feature sometimes must be enabled for it to show up as available.

I confirmed that I am able to see Dataverse (preview) in my own Developer Environment in my tenant. In Power Platform Admin Center, I checked my environment and confirmed that Updates section is set to 2024 release wave 1 and the opt-in setting for early access updates is On. I recommend checking your own environment to confirm you have the latest updates enabled for your dev environment and then checking the Copilot Studio Knowledge Source options again.

I'm not sure why you don't have this option when you are in Copilot Studio in your Dev environment. But the easiest fix will be to use a Data flow to copy the Dataverse Table from the dev environment to the default environment and build your copilot there. The Dataverse table needs to be in the same environment as the Copilot for the copilot to see it and use it.
