Other App Users Get Permission Requests for Deleted MS Word Premium Connector

Hi Everyone,

1. I created an App connected to a Flow with a Premium function (Populate a Word Document, and Convert a Word Document to PDF). This means that my App has a Premium Connector.
2. I modified the Flow by converting them into a Parent Flow and a Child Flow. The Child Flow contains a Premium function (Populate a Word Document, and Convert a Word Document to PDF) while the Parent Flow does not. After this, I have successfully removed the Premium MS Word connector from my App.

PROBLEM: When Other users run the App, they still receive a notification that Premium connector is required. However, if I check from my side, there are no Premium connectors in the App.

Has anybody experienced this problem?

Kind Regards,

Daniel

    Hi @dmbadeo2 ,

I would suspect that running a Child Flow with the connector still traces back to the Power Apps trigger and therefore requires the appropriate licence (otherwise this is an obvious workaround).

You could however consider running the Flow off something like When an item is created or modified in the data source - I will leave you to see if this suits your model.

    Hi @dmbadeo2 ,

Previously, I also tested the method and it worked as expected. So, I believe your implementation is okay.

I guess the issue happens on some of the users, not all. Which means that the user's browser cache/metadata didn't refresh after publishing the PowerApps.

Would you please choose one of the users who has the issue to test this from incognito (private) mode browser?

    Hope this helps.

    Best regards,

    Jisung Han

    Hi @WarrenBelz ,

Thank you for your suggestion, however this trigger cannot be applied to my current app.

A painful workaround that I currently did is to recreate the App in a blank canvas (copy paste the controls and reconnect to the necessary Data Connectors). It has solved the problem. So I guess it could be as what @JisungHan described, that the cache of some users did not refresh after the modifications.

    Regards,

    Daniel

    @JisungHan ,

As per your request, I had a user access the App in an incognito window.

I understand the nature of your suggestion, however, the App still required Premium connection when ran in an incognito window.

    Regards,

    Daniel

    Hi @dmbadeo2 ,

Thanks for your effort to work on this and test the suggestion.

In that scenario, the PowerApps premium connector related association would be stored in server side metadata or something for some reason. It might be cleared and refreshed after some time but we can't predict when.

Your solution that creates a new PowerApps would be the fastest workaround and a way to solve this issue.

    Best regards,

    Jisung Han
