Hello - I have a PowerBI set up with Sharepoint excel files as the data sources.
How can I have the excel files autorefresh once or twice daily before I have the PowerBI to trigger a refresh?

What does refresh mean? Need more details to explain.

However, what you can do is simply create a Scheduled Flow, to run multiple times a day to refresh the files however you want.

    Thats how

I have multiple excel data sources coming from Sharepoint. These data sources have values connected brought in from analysis server cubes. The file needs to be refreshed to have the most up to date data from the cubes. I know to schedule a refresh for the PBI but how can I make sure that the PowerBI data feeds from the most up to date and refreshed excel without manually having to refresh each file?

Hi @AF-13032116-0 I hope you are well.

Are you doing a live query or an import?

My suggestion would be creating a refresh schedule on the dataset through the Power BI Service. If I understand your query correctly.

@Jacqui Muller A refresh schedule on the dataset is exactly what I am looking for! How would I go about doing that through the PBI Service?
I am doing a connection to SharePoint for the files I wanted to have refreshed automatically without me having to open each Excel file and click data, refresh and then have the PBI schedule refresh for the whole report.
For example, my Advanced Editor query starts with
    "
    Let
    Source = SharePoint.Contents( here i have my sharepoint link) , [ApiVersion = 15]),

then the query goes on to pull my files. Majority of the files are Transform files to bring in 3 of the same format files in a folder for different measures i.e. budget, forecast, last year, etc.

thank you so much for your help!

Have you published the report to a workspace? If yes then you can enable the schedule in the settings for the report's semantic model.

@AF-13032116-0 go to the workspace that you published the report to. You should see a semantic model with the same name as your report. You should see the Schedule refresh option which you can use to schedule the refresh:

Provided you have the right permissions on the report, you'll be able to set up the schedule under Refresh:

    Hope this helps!
