Hello Community,
When we integrate the PVA bot with D365 Omnichannel using live chat channel, does anyone know if it is possible to get the URL of the webpage that the chat bot widget is on when the customer launches a new conversation with the chat bot?
I have not I am looking for a solution too. I opened a threat couple months back may be you can follow that. https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/General/How-to-get-Current-website-from-PVA-bot/m-p/2039681#M5032
Hi @furqanmajeed , I haven't been able to implement this successfully... Have you done this before?
@D365EL were you able to solve this issue?
Thanks @HenryJammes for the follow-up.
@D365EL I confirm - this requires customizations on the client side, even for the OC integration.
Hi @D365EL, I'll double check for the omnichannel integration, but that's my understanding, yes.
Hi @HenryJammes ,
Thank you for the information. From this article that you shared (https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/secret-power-virtual-agents-r%25C3%25A9mi-dyon/?trackingId=a6mH8mAFQQCwK19GASM%2FQw%3D%3D), it looks like we will need to implement some JavaScript on the web site in order to pass the URL of the web page to the PVA bot.
My quick question is: I guess there is no way for the PVA bot to get the URL of the web page where the chat bot conversation is initiated without the JavaScript, am I right? There is no easier way to achieve this by simply working with context variables - there is no out of the box way for the PVA bot (or the Chat channel configured in D365 Omnichannel) to know the URL of the web site where the conversation is initiated, is this correct?
Hi @D365EL,
Here are couple of resources that should help you achieve this:
