How to use LookUp with multiple conditions

Hi,

As the title say, I'm trying to use the LookUp function with two condition paramaters but it doesn't work.
My function is as follows :

LookUp(Tableau_Autocontrole; variable_1 = X && variable_2 = Y)

My version of powerapps uses ";" as a separator instead of "," and ";;" instead of ";"

According to the online documentation :
LookUp(Table*, Formula [, *ReductionFormula* ] )
  • Formula - Required. The formula by which each record of the table is evaluated. The function returns the first record that results in true. You can reference columns within the table. In the UI, the syntax is shown as condition above the function box.

My lookup function is part of a larger function I'm working on. It's means to check whether a record with both value X and value Y exists.

    Try this:
    LookUp(Filter(Tableau_Autocontrole; variable_1 = X); variable_2 = Y)
    Lookup can only handle one formula to see if the record macthes The secodn formula that you mention is evaluated over the record that was found, and then reduces the record to a single value. so basically it transforms your result .

    Can you show us the overall function that you are trying to implement?  I don't see anything wrong with your code. I've tested a similar function and it works fine for me using an And with two fields as long as they are both in the data source.  Are Variable_1 and Variable_2 both in the Tableau_Autocontrole data source?

    You’re on the right track! To use LookUp with multiple conditions in PowerApps, you can combine them using the logical && operator inside the formula.

    Since your PowerApps version uses ";" as a separator (common in some locales), the correct syntax would be

    LookUp(Tableau_Autocontrole; variable_1 = X && variable_2 = Y)

     Make sure:

    • X and Y match the data types of variable_1 and variable_2
    • You’re using the correct separators (; instead of ,)
    • There are no delegation issues if you're connecting to large data sources

    If you are sorting through the responses (including the ChatGPT copy and paste), @Pstork1's question is the relevant one - I suspect those variables are not in the data source (so you need to compare them to a field name in the data source).
